I just watched President Obama condemn in the strongest possible terms the senseless, useless violence being conducted by the Qaddafi regime, after which Chris Matthews, David Corn and Howard Fineman promptly condemned Obama's "timidity."
I had to laugh, because in this crisis, as in the Egypt affair, Obama only seems positively Napoleonic: "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
I doubt they were even listening to the President speak; they were too busy crafting their post-speech pontificating pundit attacks. Gotta sell that predetermined narrative, no matter what!

P.M., is it alright to call you that?
Thank you for your comments.
I never would have imaged that I would be listening to liberals begging for Obama to behave like Bush. They have done so on numerous occasions, i.e., health care, Egypt, and now Libya. And that is just part of their list.
They have always hated nation building, and now they want, I should say demand, this president to stand up and walk the walk.

It was people like Tweety, Corn, and Fineman that made me stop watching the evening programs on MSNBC. They're too invested in themselves to be unbiased. I watched the president's speech, and I didn't hear what they said they heard. I heard a president who sent a strong, subtle message of support for the protesters, stressed that his national security team is working around the clock studying/monitoring the entire ME, emphasized the importance of international cooperation, and expressed a clear desire to get our fellow citizens out of Libya safely. If either of them were POTUS, I doubt if they'd do as well as President Obama has in dealing with so many difficult issues. Talk is cheap, and these pundits and teevee personalities must realize some day that the majority of Americans don't care what they have to say about anything. I don't listen to them because I know it's all based on self aggrandizement.

A baseball team owner was asked why he fired the manager when it was obvious that the problem was that it was a lousy group of players. He responded, "Well, I can't fire the whole team."
We the people are pretty ticked off because our country is a mess. The polls reflect that, including Obama's favorability polls.
Even so, every week Obama presents himself as the only adult in Washington. The Republicans know this which is why no one of consequence is running for their nomination.
By the fall of 2012, unemployment will be less than 8% and dropping. Obama will win the popular vote by 7-8 percentage points.
