In a stunning, even mind-blowing piece of investigative political journalism, Politico has interviewed "about two dozen Republican elected officials, aides, strategists and lobbyists" and has ascertained, for our edification, that these Republican officials, aides, strategists and lobbyists are now saying they think Mitt Romney can win!
The Politico piece also unveils such hitherto unknown factors as: Republicans, by and large, tend to "support their nominee"; and, what's more--brace for impact now--that Republicans tend to unify in the oppositional face of an incumbent Democratic president.
Whoa! This is way too much to absorb, far too much of a shock to one's conventionality and complacency, too too much upending of all we believed and held dear.
