From CBS News, June 8:
Romney touts "strong leadership" in new ad
From Politico, this morning:
In an interview with Bob Schieffer aired Sunday on CBS’s "Face the Nation," the presumptive Republican presidential nominee five different times declined to answer whether he would conduct the same policy President Barack Obama on Friday announced his Department of Homeland Security will now pursue.
Say what you will about the GOP, especially the far right, but they are right about Romney.
In his defense, he is only manifesting the policies and principles of the GOP once held in the light of day. really, what is he supposed to say? Just as a parlor game, I don't think I could craft any statement (regardless of how cynical) that could meet the needs of The Base and and still pass the red-face test.
If he thinks this is tough - and it is - just wait until he is asked to justify killing Medicare during a televised debate.
I am in awe of the discipline it takes for Obama to postpone that discussion until the debates. It's like Joe Fraiser waiting till the 12th Round before throwing his first right hook.

What is really scary is that people supporting Romney could care less about his leadership, his policies or his non policies. All they care about is that he is not Obama. I am afraid to say that most of the media seem to share the same feelings. Otherwise, what else explains the kid glove treatment Romney is receiving from most of the MSM.

nk007, that is truly the scary part. Having an economy in the toilet, destroying Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, increased unemployment are all preferable to having Obama in the WH. I have several head-to-desk moments everyday.
And in regard to leadership, which takes a degree of courage, not only did Romney refuse to say what he would do with the DHS decision (not an executive order) he also refused to say what specific spending cuts he would make to pay for his tax cuts and went so far as to say he will continue to refuse to discuss that until after he is elected. How Scott Walkerian of him.
