Yep, lower. Ever lower. Reports the Daily Telegraph:
In remarks that may prompt accusations of racial insensitivity, one [adviser] suggested that Mr Romney was better placed to understand the depth of ties between the two countries than Mr Obama, whose father was from Africa.
"We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels that the special relationship is special," the adviser said of Mr Romney, adding: "The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have".
Let me just say it for you malicious crackers, since you quite obviously would like to say it yourselves but are too characteristically cowardly to put it in plain, 'Anglo-Saxon' American English: "President Obama is a spook, a darkie, a 'colored' man, a shiftless nigger who, were he not president of the United States, would be stealing hubcaps and raping white women."
There, now isn't that better? You know, more than a few in your target electoral market are way too friggin' stupid to understand anything even remotely approaching subtlety. So this should help.
The explanation I have seen the most often to minimze this is that the Telegraph cannot be trusted and may well have made this up. Of course, the campaign will deny it was ever said.
Nonetheless, compare that quote to this from a KKK leaflet from the 60's “people of other backgrounds simply cannot comprehend the Anglo-Saxon principle”

It's a darn shame that the British Parliament is not currently in session or some curious British pol might be tempted to inquire of the Prime Minister about the parlous state of relations between America and the United Kingdom. And that would be damned embarrassing.

LOL
You are getting close PM but still a tad short.
I remember a night in the mid 70's while smoking a few joints with my fraternity brother. In all other respects, this guy was and is the salt of the earth. Then unprompted, he went on a diatribe similar to yours.
But he went further. And remember his was not in reaction to anything. It just bubbled out of his soul. he said something like, "Robert, I havte evryone of those goddamned n****rs. I wish I could kill everyone of those motherfuckers. I wish I could get a machine gun and kill everyone of them myself."
It was something of a buzz-kill for me - being the openly liberal person in the fraternity.
Now, understand this guy has never been in trouble with the law. He is a successful businessman. He is a leader in the community and a good family man. He is not the Uni-Bomber.
And he has never changed.
And he is not alone.
And that is who Romney and the GOP court.
This is why I contend you must live down here to fully understand this kind of racism.
