Romney's latest ambiguity answers nothing:
I did go back and look at my taxes, and, over the past 10 years, I never paid less than 13 percent.... Every year, I paid at least 13 percent, and if you add in, in addition, the amount that goes to charity, the number gets well above 20 percent.
What kind of taxes? Federal? State? Local? Sales? Payroll? Property? Investment?
Given Romney's Nixonian shiftiness, was it carelessness that caused him to say merely "taxes," rather than federal taxes? Or was it extreme care?
I tend to agree with what Chris O'Donnell said on his program last night when he noted the care Ann Romney used when responding to the question of whether Romney will release more of his tax returns. McDonnell stated that she was very careful in what she said, and that he believes that she and her husband have been coached by their tax lawyers on how to respond when they're asked anything having to do with their taxes.

And now: The Obama campaign makes Mitt an offer he can't refuse (if he wants to put the issue to bed): Release five years of returns and we'll shut up about this.
And by golly, the Romney campaign refuses! "We told you all you need to know and we're not gonna do it, you big meanies, so there!" is the gist of the response.
Now I really REALLY want to know what's in them that's so awful it can't be allowed to see daylight.
