I love this. Powerline is grumbling that Public Policy Polling's "finding [of a 44-43 Akin lead] is absurd.... [I]t comes from a flawed poll.... PPP significantly oversampled Republicans.... Typically, it’s polls do not significantly oversample Republicans."
But hey, they're your Republicans. Of course Democrats would prefer that Akin remain in the race. And if GOPers were even half as sane as Powerline believes they are, any oversampling of them should have righteously doomed Akin's hopes of pulling out a desperate victory.
In brief, Powerline is arguing that Missouri Republicans simply cannot be expected to show any smarts, yet they and their fellow Republicans across this troubled republic are somehow the cat's meow when it comes to intelligently seating the next United States Senate. Go figure.
(Where were these guys when I used to play poker?)
Powerline has no reason to be pissed because it has helped to recruit GOP candidates like Akin. The current problem Powerline, republicans, and other RW outfits have with Akin is that he has become a liability in the Missouri senate race-not because of what he said. The GOP plans to include a ban on all abortions with no exceptions for rape or incest on its national platform.
