From NY Magazine's Daily Intel:
Fox News chief Roger Ailes ... has issued a new directive to his staff: He wants the faces associated with the election off the air — for now. For Karl Rove and Dick Morris — a pair of pundits perhaps most closely aligned with Fox’s anti-Obama campaign — Ailes’s orders mean new rules.
The new rules? Producers must get a permission slip from Ailes before inviting Rove or Morris onto one of Fox News' spellbinding analyses of current events. No mention is made by Daily Intel as to how Rove-Morris' outrageously distorted views of the world could possibly degrade Fox News' alternative staples of outrageous distortion, but, I guess we can't have everything.
A spokesperson for Ailes denied any rift between Ailes and Rove, and said the two plan to meet this week.
Their seconds have been alerted. Twenty paces.
The operative words are "for now". Once the public forgets Rove's meltdown and Morris' absolutely horrid predictions - and with the public's well known short attention span, that won't take long - they will be back.
