Speaking of new films, I was really distressed to see that Anna Karenina is rated R, since that also discourages me from escorting my 13-year-old daughter to see it. I do not recall reading one R-rated scene in Tolstoy's original version, which as I do recall was a pretty good version. But it wasn't good enough for Hollywood?
You cannot have a "love story" in Hollywood that does not involve a certain amount of nudity -- mostly female. I suspect the movie contains some semi-explicit sex. (13-year-olds have never heard of sex.)
