Politico reports the impending reunification of Karl Rove and Fox News, as an adjunct to the tokenism of former congressman Dennis Kucinich:
So the pair of announcements bookend the political spectrum.
Odd, perhaps, but I never really think of Karl Rove as "political" in the sense that he occupies a philosophical slice of the known, available spectrum. Rove strikes me instead as a happy mercenary who's perfectly willing to gut little old grannies or eviscerate corporate elitists alike, as long as the money's right. He'll march with Mao or monkey with Mitt or for that matter recommend knighthood for Kucinich; just leave the 30 pieces at Hell's entrance, thank you very much.
Only the most splendidly unprincipled breed of soulless gunslinger could, for instance, travel from the budget-busting side of George W. Bush to enlist with the screeching deficit hawks--and never break a solitary sweat from the journey's breathtaking hypocrisy.
You are--and I really mean this in a kind of awestruck way, Mr. Rove--an inspiration to lesser sociopaths everywhere.
