This morning I foolishly downloaded Microsoft's latest browser, IE 10, which has pretty much blown up my computing capabilities. I shall return upon the retrieval of my old system, if possible.

Guess I'm now stuck with IE 9, which I had avoided for months because Microsoft once insidiously and anonymously slipped it into one of its many irksome updates. I hated it, not the least reason being it wiped out all my passwords and, well, just about everything of daily utility. (I use dozens of iconic bookmarks for research and news sources, which Chrome, Firefox and others don't seem to offer as a feature.) However, since none of this really amounts to the world's greatest problem, I can live with it.
In a word, Chrome.

Still running XP and never saw any reason to change. To paraphrase a common saying, do not let new be the enemy of the functional.

I am still running XP. Ms and Google seem to be in some battle to the death over whether I use IE or Chrome. They take turns trying to hijack my computer or back-dooring an entry.
I am beginning to get a lot of problems.
Any suggestions about to whom I should sell what's left of my cyber-soul?

A common problem Robert but you can disable or delete IE and you probably should. I have been running the same rock stable sytem using Firefox as my browser for five years.

Thanks. Does using Outlook as a primary e-mail source complicate this?

I'm barren, Robert, no Outlook, no vision.
I'll just go with God and Pope Frank, the latter of whom I believe just prayed for world peace. So that's done, anyway.

As a good Southern Baptist/Methodist/Lutheran/undeclared protestant, I will walk away from the pope comment. I will leave the office of the Bishop of Rome between the cardinals and Bill Gates.
Dang, I backslid!

PM, get Firefox and use the Speed Dial app.

You can still have all the book marks you wish as well...

Just to be safe, I have backed up all bookmarks to my abacus, the only digital device (other than my fingers and toes) that I trust.
