The Note introduces a new contestant:
[A]fter his appearance today at a labor event in Iowa, [Howard Dean will] pop up in New Hampshire next month.... Whether Dean becomes the [progressives'] vehicle or not, there’s room to President Obama’s--and Hillary Clinton’s--left at the moment, on topics both foreign and domestic.
That is undeniably true. Yet the electoral "room" measures only about 4.5 percent squared (OK, I'll make it easy: about 20 percent), which for Dean should be a daunting, ahem, disadvantage.
