Chris Christie--remember him?--would, were he president, simply take the Constantinian "approach":
"As the executive [I would] call in the leaders of the Congress, the legislature, whatever you're dealing with, and say, 'We're not leaving this room until we fix this problem, because I'm the boss, I'm in charge.'"
Who knew it was that easy?
Even more laughable is the mental image of President Obama addressing the Gang of the Tea Party 30 in the East Room (which would actually be empty, since the gang wouldn't even show up), bellowing that he's the boss and in charge!
Right, that would break the ice, ease tensions, and really get the conversation rolling, don't you think?
Jesus, we're in for three years of Christie's kind of buffoonery.
