Chait reminds us today that "George Will Keeps Getting Nuttier," his latest mental decay having something to do with Americans buying bigass gas-gulping trucks as a manifestation of their disdain for President Obama's climate concerns.
Via Chait, you'll need to read Will's insights for yourself; I don't translate old Puckerpants's elitist anti-elitism very well.
Chait's extra-special bonus quote, though, comes at the end of his piece, in which he reminds us of this Willean classic from early 2011: "the real reason for progressives’ passion for trains is their goal of diminishing Americans’ individualism in order to make them more amenable to collectivism."
I swear as a socialist--a progressive squared--that I love taking trains, but I also swear to God that I have never done so with the insidious goal in mind of diminishing my fellow Americans' individualism or of softening them up for my nefariously Trotskyite collectivism. Really, George, I swear it.
