I just watched a riotous bit on "Hardball," a near-psychiatric analysis of lunatic Glenn Beck's latest rants by host Chris Matthews and guests Eugene Robinson of WaPo and Media Matters's Eric Boehlert.
It seems Mr. Beck is now saying that the Bush administration was somehow wickedly steeped in Islamofascism's global designs. Orders went out during Shock and Awe, you see, not to bomb ancient Babylon, home of the coming caliphate. Don't ask.
Anyway, worldwide communists and socialists are also working with Islamofascists these days, says Beck, because all three hate Israel and the Jews, and all three are orchestrating events in contemporary Egypt.
That pretty much brought us substantively up to date. This entire schtick, however, was so priceless I simply had to flip over to Matthews's competitor, the aforementioned Mr. Beck (which is one of my objections to MSNBC's endless fascination with covering Fox: it boosts Fox's ratings), to see what he was saying today. I could tolerate only a moment, but sure enough there were the direst of overtones emanating from Beck about a worldwide something-or-other evil on its way.
But guess what? The infamous "Code Pink" is involved as well in this nefarious conspiracy. Now that's the big time.
I'm afraid, however, that was all my intelligence gathering could bear.
Only a better man than I could ever deconstruct what in heaven's name Beck was rambling about. I would suggest, though, not making the effort. Based on what I witnessed today, I'd guess that Roger Ailes will be pulling the plug on Beck rather soon. His rants have far surpassed the merely crazy; these are seriously disturbed, on-air breakdowns that even Fox won't tolerate much longer.
You are just too good ... I'm guaranteed to learn, frequently to LOL, and always look forward to returning to your blog in the hopes of a new post.
You've got a chuckle-inducing typo in the first paragraph ...
"I just watched a riotous bit on "Hardball," a near-psychiatric analysis of lunatic Glenn Beck's latest rants by host Christ Matthews ...."
It may be what he sees in the mirror, though :)

"that even Fox won't tolerate much longer"?
Are we thinking of the same Roger Ailes-Rupert Murdoch production here?
There was a sponsor boycott of Beck last year which had him down to Goldline and PSA's to pay for his ravings. Never stopped him then, I'm not sure what would make Ailes yank Beck off the air now.
I think he's safe until he stops scaring seniors s---less.

JS:
I agree with you. Ailes/Murdoch are all about scaring Americans with the goal of restoring right wingers to power.

Even some on the right are beginning to question Beck's sanity.

Beck will never be yanked unless he gores one of Murdoch's pet oxen.
