I again repeat my conviction that our present decay goes back in a singularly identifiable way to the deeply corrupt Court of Bush v. Gore. It seems Fallows agrees.
On the upside it may be remembered that Franklin Roosevelt, too, had his "Four Horsemen," plus an Anthony Kennedy-doppleganger, all five of whom were hellbent on reshackling America to the Haves and Have-Mores of the unenlightened Gilded Age.
But, Franklin Roosevelt won--that "socialist cripple" saved capitalism in spite of its ineducable self; he went on to three reelections; and the Court got handed a heart.
