Plucky? Or pinheaded?
Several [tea party] groups already are setting their sights on 2014 congressional races, in which they plan to promote their preferred candidates and hope to weed out Republicans they consider insufficiently conservative....
"This was a very difficult year," said [the] founder of the Virginia Federation of Tea Party Patriots. "But in many ways, we are stronger than ever."
There was no elaboration on that "stronger than ever" part.
I'll go with pinheaded.
This is just too precious. If they keep up pruning themselves to ideological purity one day they'll produce the perfect voter, a perfect voter, to take on the evil liberals.

"In many ways". Yes, in many ways. Let us think of the many ways.

One of the ways in which the teabag party is better off is the fiscal cliff, which if nothing is done will result in...oh wait. Never mind.

Oh, Lawd, let us pray that they will primary another "moderate" Republican senator, only to be replaced with an unexpected-but-appreciated Democratic victory..
Tea Party Morons for the win!

By now we can rationalise that doubling down the ridiculous is the new dna for the republican/tea-party/rightwing retrogressors!
