Who says the GOP has run out of good ideas.
The Republican National Committee, already threatening to block CNN and NBC from hosting 2016 primary debates if they air planned features on Hillary Clinton, is also looking to scrap the old model of having reporters and news personalities ask the questions at candidate forums ... [and is considering] a heavyweight panel of radio bigs Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin.
Hell that's a great idea.
Frankly, I think both parties should choose party insiders to moderate primary debates. Primaries are of the parties, by the parties and for the parties. Neither party should apologize for the debates and by extension the primaries being purely partisan affairs.
The GOP should have Fox News host their debates. Rush Limbaugh should moderate one of them.
Similarly, Keith Olbermann or Lawrence O'Donnell should moderate the Democrat debates.

It would rob Republican candidates of their laziest dodge in debates -- attacking the "liberal media" as embodied by the news person who asked the question instead of answering the question.

I have an even better one - just have one big townhall. What worked for Farenthold should work for the rest of them.

If Cirque du Soleil can create a circus composed entirely of acrobats I see no reason one could not create one entirely of clowns. I'd watch every blessed minute.

Maybe they should have the rodeo clown be a moderator. Seems only fitting since almost NOBODY can talk about the republican primary candidates without using the words "clown car".
