I just violated my self-imposed, sanity-protecting rule about avoiding political opinion polls for a few months.

From the WaPo-ABC News poll, the question: "Overall, who do you trust to do a better job coping with the main problems the nation faces over the next few years -- (Obama) or (the Republicans in Congress)?"

And the response: Each got 41 percent.

Or, put another way, electoral psychosis is now tied with reality.

OK, that's it, at least for another month. The blackout was better.
