There is no bottom

Politico:

Virginia Rep. Randy Forbes, a senior House Republican eyeing a powerful committee chairmanship, is causing friction with some of his colleagues by pushing the [National Republican Congressional Committee] to deny support for some of the party’s gay congressional candidates.

What the fuck century is this idiot living in? I know I shouldn't be surprised by anything any contemporary conservative does. But somehow, one always find a way to absolutely stagger even my vaguely held grasp of what constitutes inherent human decency.

Unfortunately, the fact that there is no bottom is not at all surprising. Every time a new depth is plumbed by a politician or public figure, it simply gives the rest permission to go there too. Hence, the next pronouncement must be more outrageous, simply to get anybody's attention. It's a black hole with no singularity...
