A gentle distance opens up:
The White House counsel's office was not aware at the time Hillary Rodham Clinton was secretary of state that she relied solely on personal email and only found out as part of the congressional investigation into the Benghazi attack, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The person said Clinton's exclusive reliance on personal email as the nation's top diplomat was inconsistent with the guidance given to agencies that official business should be conducted on official email accounts.
By next year, anonymous WH sources may be saying, "Hillary who?"
Gotta love it.
Somehow you missed the most important part of this communique, PM. It directly links E-mailgate to #Bengazi! And it was done by the White House councel's office. So now the Select Committee has a fresh, new path into the weeds.

That's true shsavage. And it will give them something to chase for months that will lead nowhere. One might ask what they expect to find in this cache of the most insecure communications in the world. Especially in the post Manning world where millions of much more closely guarded communications, confidential diplomatic cables, are liberally distributed.( I laughed as I wrote that sentence) There will be nothing there to find I'll bet. The debates about seating arrangements at Chelsea's wedding will doubtless be the most fascinating part and much discussed. By the time the election rolls around this will be just another witch hunt. It won't make a lick of difference to changing the minds of the anti-Hillary crowd because those are already made up. But it will certainly provide some excellent froth that can be used by her campaign. At some point I expect the reason for securing work related e-mails will come up. And that will be the millions of deleted e-mails that went missing under the previous Bush administration. I've always been amazed how that could be made to happen.

Exactly so, Peter. But something else. Now they have the rabbit hole into which all the evidence they "know" exists but can't find was "obviously" stuffed. It's now the perfect scenario, because the absence of evidence will now constitute evidence. But you're correct that it will lead nowhere but deeper into GOP Wonderland.
