Time, finally, to unleash with no little righteousness the most abused word in the English language:
Awesome.

I have to say that NASA outdid itself this time. Considering that the craft was launched before it was accurately known where precisely Pluto would be when the craft arrived this borders on miraculous. Well done ladies and gentlemen.

We can still be proud of our scientific prowess. NASA's next project is to explore Jupiter's Moon Europa. The moon has an ocean under the surface ice that is one of the best bets in the solar system for finding life.
Republicans have been trying to cut the Earth studies budget of this same agency. The Obama administration has more than doubled it, but there's a good case to be made we can't know too much about what's happening with our climate.

Correction: the NASA Earth studies budget has been increased by more than 50%. No more comments from memory only.
