Yesterday there took place a tweeting war between Republican consultant Rick Wilson, who, though in public denial, is horrified that Republican voters like Republican Donald Trump, and Republican Ann Coulter, who herself is horrifying, and who is, then, delighted that Republican voters like Republican Donald Trump. In short, their tweeting war exemplifies the Republican establishment's campaign against the Republican base, and the war is getting really — and rewardingly — nasty.
First, there was this: "Wilson has been in a flame war with Breitbart.com recently over the website’s editorial support for GOP candidate Donald Trump. The battle got so ugly that Wilson eventually alleged he received rape threats towards his daughter."
Coulter, always on the lookout for tasty bile, tweeted:
Wilson then gave better than he got:
The only sad part of this tale is that Wilson hasn't yet learned the Trumpist trick of Republican virtue: never apologize. For Wilson then tweeted:
Above, gentle reader, you see the two Republican camps that will feel compelled to unite in the rather unlikely event of a Trump nomination. But that won't happen — not at the top; the GOP chasm between them is much too deep. Much of the befuddled base in the establishment camp would nonetheless turn out, in a Pavlovian daze, to pull the "R" lever. Why not? It might their last opportunity.
Almost equal fun — or possibly more equal fun? — will erupt in the more likely event of a Trump Party (I assume its name; what else could it be?). Then a three-way war will endure throughout the general election campaign, with, however, most things going boom between Republicans and Republicans, not Republicans and Democrats.
I admit I'm torn. I'm not sure which I'd prefer to watch: the unlikely or likely event.
Wilson might have actually shocked his readers by admitting his knowledge of sex worker rate schedules, which makes his apology off-point and a possible diversionary tactic. Anyhow, assuming Trump might ever have liked Coulter's scary type, he would have moved on to a younger scary escort by now.

Gee I hope the various Republican factions don't run out of money to fund their uncivil war.

I'm not a twitterer (or whatever they're called), so what is the meaning of /3??

oops, 3/

I don't use it either, but I think it's the 3rd of at least 3 tweets that make up one message.
