Thank you so much for writing this. I was getting so sick and tired of hearing the terms "politically correct" and "politically incorrect" that they were both starting to lose their meaning for me, except in the case of the republican field where who is most "Politically Incorrect" somehow translates to a contest over who out of the field is the biggest douche bag.

As far as rightists are concerned, political correctness has always been something only leftists do. Rightists "tell it like it is," a phrase which has always been cover for making crude appeals to their base of bigots, ignoramuses and economic elitists. Carson's assertion "Taqiya is a component of Shia that allows, and even encourages you to lie to achieve your goals" is rich considering many Christians feel they have a right to misrepresent the findings of science and stands of politicians or organizations they disagree with, often with stunning dishonesty and delusions of persecution.

On the topic of conservative political incorrectness our British cousins have possibly reached a pinnacle we might never reach on this side of the pond. According to a new biography by a former Conservative peer, David Cameron “put a private part of his anatomy” into a dead pig's mouth. Bestiality combined with necrophilism is a bit odd even for a conservative Brit. http://www.buzzfeed.com/jimwaterson/not-a-headline-we-ever-expected-to-write
